Bowmore 12 Year Old is the benchmark of our expressive house style, with dramatic notes of honeyed lemon and driftwood embers that transport you to the shores of Loch Indaal. It is matured for 12 years in hand selected American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and European oak Oloroso sherry butts and puncheons, before being carefully married together. Care is taken to add distinct layers of flavour at every stage: every action is judged and considered, from the hand-turned malt, dried in peat-fired kilns, to our longer fermentation times and hand-selected casks.
